The Matthias Family > We enjoyed a Christmas Eve lunch with the Rossi family at our home. We had ham, mashed potatoes, green beans. Sharing a traditional meal with close friends finally made it feel like Christmas!
The Matthias Family > We stopped at a wonderful café next to the Golden Gate. The cafe had a beautiful fountain and even a kid’s play area. With the sun shining and the sound of the water from the fountain, it was a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. Here, Monica, Roberto, Don and Thea share some espresso, tea and conversation.
The Matthias Family > The Rossi’s are a new family serving with SEND and just arrived in Kiev in August. Roberto and Carrie have two children, Matteo (3 years) and Lydia (3 months) and will be attending language school to learn Ukrainian. While showing the Rossi’s around the downtown area, we visited the Opera and Ballet Theater and took their picture at a monument honoring the Ukrainian composer Mykola Lysenko. Carrie’s parents, Don and Thea, also stayed in Kiev for 2 weeks, seeing the city and helping the family settle in their new apartment.
