The Matthias Family > Mark provided transportation for the Operation Christmas child boxes our church collected from the weekly Awana children's program. Here, Mary Beth Palowski SBC's children's director and her son, Neal pose before we delivered the boxes to a local collection spot for their delivery around the world. The Matthias Family > Mark and Monica continue to volunteer at their local church's (Suburban Bible Church) Awana program. Each week, kids from all ages attend this program where they work hard to learn Bible verses, have a craft time and enjoy a fun-filled gym time. Here, Mark is posing with some of the boys at his table.

The Matthias Family > While at the HIV/AIDS conference, Mark shared a small room with two other conference attendees (Veetya, on left and Serogia, on right).
The Matthias Family > Mark and Maggie (not pictured) also visited an English class attended by 3 teenagers. It was incredibly encouraging to see how this program has impacted the lives of disabled children, children who otherwise are discarded or locked away by society. Natasha, (seated on the right) was extremely bright and cheerful young woman who has attended various programs of the facility since it began operation over 10 years ago.
The Matthias Family > Mark joined with Pastor Volodiya to visit the drug rehab center started 4 months ago by his church. These men are living here in the village of Skrepchen, about an hour outside of Kyiv. Here they pray together, study God's Word together and support each other as they work to overcome their addictions to drugs and alcohol. They learn to depend on each other and on the Lord. They also learn to value and enjoy work rather than steal and spend their time and money on drugs. The center currently has 8 men living there, but when the renovations are complete, they will be able to house as many as 12 men.

Please pray for these men as they grow in their faith and as their lives reflect God's healing and the Holy Spirit's work in their lives.
The Matthias Family > When our teacher, Nedezda was out of school for a week caring for her ill husband, we joined another class. Suprisingly, Mark found Lena's teaching style to be a great match for him and remained in this class with his fellow student, Elsie McKenney.
The Matthias Family > Mark and his friend, Andy climbing the wall. It was a little scary being 3 stories from the gound!!
