The Matthias Family > In addition to the many presentations and break-out sessions, the attendees were able to network with each other and to obtain a variety of materials and information addressing the problem of HIV/AIDS in Ukraine.  This is especially important as Ukraine and Russia currently have the fastest growing rate of infection in the world.
The Matthias Family > Mark represented SEND International at an 3-day,all-Ukraine AIDS conference designed to raise awareness within the church community of this growing problem.  The conference was attended by 150 Ukrainians from churches and drug rehab programs and approximately 30 Western missionaries.  Of course, the conference was presented in Russian, and Mark was encouraged by his growing understanding of the Russian language.
