The Matthias Family > St. Michael's Cathedral in downtown Kiev, originally built in the 12th century, removed during the Bolsheivik revolution and rebuilt in the early 1990's, after the fall of communism.
The Matthias Family > Saint Andrew's Church, built between 1747 and 1753, has been fully restored and is open to the public as an historical architectural museum.
The Matthias Family > On the grounds of the gardens is an orthodox church.  We visited inside, which was just as beautiful as the outside.  We were not permitted to take pictures however.

The Matthias Family > On Easter Sunday, several of the musicians were playing and singing out front.  With the exception of Pastor's wife (who plays piano), most of the musicians are teens or young people.  As you can see, the church holds services in an apartment it rents.  During the week, a Christian kindergarten-preschool, Creative Hearts, operates there.  In fact, this is where Corrie Mae attends 1st grade 4 days a week.  Her classes are also held completely in Russian.

The Matthias Family > Saint Sophia Cathedral, originally built by Yaraslov the Wise in 1037.  It has been damaged many times over the centuries, but most recently rebuilt in the 17th century.
